Fiorentina Restaurant and Cocktail Bar is one of Dublin city’s newest hotspots, located on the corner of Parliament Street facing City Hall. The stylish Italian eatery is spearheaded by Kristan Burness, a familiar name in the Irish restaurant scene. Fiorentina has been open for a few weeks, and it looks to be on the fast track to success; and has welcomed a host of celebrities including Niall Quinn and his wife Gillian, Roz Purcell, Bressie and Coronation Street’s Ryan Thomas.

I was very kindly invited to the official launch night where tasty bites, speciality bellinis and red and white wine were on the menu.

It’s a-flowin’ in the bar!

I took my friend Katie as my date. We were both warmly welcomed by Kristan and Mark, and made our bellini choices – strawberry and balsamic or moscato poached peach. I tried a few of each…the peach one was my favourite, but the decision wasn’t easy!

Our menu for the evening – such an exciting variety of tastes and flavours to try!

I prefer lighter Italian meals and I’m not a huge fan of pasta, so I was impressed by the varied selection, something that always encourages me to stop by again. On another note, how beautiful is the handwriting?

The very talented Valerie Roe and myself.  This woman has such an incredible career. She’s very inspiring and lovely to chat to. Thank you to Valerie for the invitation!

We sat facing the door so we could see all that was happening. The atmosphere was buzzing and we enjoyed watching the DJ (Ivano Cafolla) and the smiley waiting staff.  All night the waiters and waitresses whisked effortlessly in and out of the crowds carrying sleek black slates filled with gorgeous food. They came around so many times and were so attentive. They were more than happy to give you  several of your menu favourites, and no one went hungry.

Wild mushroom risotto with black truffle and grissini. If I had to choose, this was my favourite! It was eye-rollingly good.

Prosecco and oyster risotto.

There was also chunks of steak as soft as butter which Katie sampled. She was a fan, her eye roll was over those. For the full list of Fiorentina menus, click here.

We wound down and finished our feast at our busy table, chatting over incredible cocktails. The party was still in full swing when we left around 11pm, with so many familiar faces! We had been there for hours but time flew by in such a relaxing atmosphere.

Fiorentina is the perfect spot for an afterwork cocktail, dinner and lunch with family or friends. The food is excellent and of the highest quality, the service is great and the prices are very reasonable. You should visit for the mushroom risotto alone!
