Happy Monday! I would never encourage or advocate Monday well-wishings on the majority of Mondays throughout the year, as many people turn into rottweilers at the beginning of a new week. It’s totally safe this week though, with two 4 day weeks ahead/1 long weekend. Whichever way you want to spin it.
My weekend was eventful, though poorly photographed. When I was putting these pictures up, I genuinely couldn’t identify what many of them were, so they got the axe. I did have good company, good food, lots of boozy dates and bought myself a summery dress, though I’m still waiting on Spring. I thought Spain would be kinder to me, but it’s still freezing here. Terrace seating is making a return however, since last October. So hopefully things will take a turn soon!
Friday drinks and Spanish chats with Amy from Edinburgh. I don’t have a full length mirror, but I do have this one in the lobby. Spring in Spain – dressed in a light blouse with a winter coat in tow and sunglasses in my bag. Jillian Michael’s workout is giving me calves of steel. Not what I was aiming for, but we’ll see how it goes!

Saturday lunch – Caprese salad. This salad is the most refreshing thing ever, and takes two seconds to make. Simply cut tomatoes into slices and season, place a basil leaf/small blob of pesto/basil paste (pictured here – it’s in the salad fridges in supermarkets and its delicious) slice the mozzarella into disks and place on top of the tomatoes, drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Usually I make it in a neat and presentable way, but you can fling it all in a bowl and stir like I did, either..
There were Easter vigils taking place all around town..
The perfect burger at Frank’s Hollywood American style bar/restaurant..
..which served well as fuel for a shopping trip! I bought a white summer dress with rabbit print from H&M’s conscious collection.
Then off to Doze bar off Salamanca’s Rua Mayor for a relaxing atmosphere, good music and perfect cocktails (best margarita ever) made by one of the hottest Spanish men I have encountered since my move here. I tried to take a sneaky picture, but he’s always there and I didn’t want to scare him away forever. Understandable, I’m sure!
Hungry (again!) from a busy weekend, we finished off on Sunday night with duck, paté, goats cheese and pistachio salad followed by mushroom and truffle oil pizza at La Tagliatella. And lots of wine, of course.
